My Story

This is my story that I wrote in class.

I am Lady Jane Grey

All life on this Earth starts out all the same, with the signal of a new baby born. I gave this signal in the year of 1537. My name is Jane and here is my story.

I will start from the year of 1547. The date is 31st of January and the King is dead. Wait, my cousin Edward would be proclaimed king. That is weird. It’s quite funny how young children can become King or Queen. My parents want me to marry Edward. You would have thought that it would be my choice, but no I have no choice.Edward is the rightful heir of the king. When my cousin becomes king he will be called King Edward VI. Imagine if I did marry him. I would become royal! On the 20th of February 1547 Edward is crowned king.

Two years has past since Edward’s crowning and new has got around that Thomas Seymour has been executed. I didn’t even know that he had been tried or imprisoned. The name most people knew him by was Lord Sudley. It is now the 10th of June and a new book is coming out in churches. It’s a Catholic book of course. I can’t wait. It is Thomas Cranmer's book so it should be good. The new book hopefully is better than the old one. My parents take my sisters and I to church. During this year so far there has been riots breaking out all over England! No ones knows who's causing it. It is now the 14th of October and they have finally found the person causing the riots. I can’t believe Edward Seymour would do such a thing.

My father Henry Grey has a new title. So does two other men. My father became the Duke of Suffolk, John Dudley, Earl of Warwick and Lord President became the Duke of Northumberland. It’s cool that my father became the Duke because now we get to move to Suffolk place. Somerset has been accused of plotting a murder and he is to be executed.

I can’t believe it. I am forced to marry Guilford Dudley, the youngest son of the Duke  of Northumberland. I don’t even get a say in who I marry! That is unfair. This is such a sad day. Edward has died at the age of 16. He got really sick and could not get better. I am glad I am not Queen. I just found out today that I am going to be Queen! Apparently Edward disinherited his sister and named me his successor. I am trying to capture mary but have failed and now am going to be put into prison.Why did I try?

I can’t believe it my father in law has been executed! I feel so sorry for Guilford, I wonder why he was executed. Mary is now queen and is restoring the catholicism in England. I didn’t even know that she had to! Now mine and my husbands fate has been sealed. We were tried for treason and now we are condemned to death. All I did was try to capture Mary and this is what I get out of it? Oh well at least I am here with my husband Guildford.

I kinda knew my life would end like this anyway.

Thomas Wyatt does not like Mary. Here is the reason, he started a rebellion to throw Mary off of the throne but failed and now is stuck in prison like me. Guess who else is in prison, my father! Apparently he took part in the rebellion. My time has nearly come. My death like all the others, decapitation. My father’s life will end the same.

Homework Term 3 week 1-2

For our homework this fortnight we had to do 5 things fro our family to help with out being asked. I did multiple things but cannot for the life of me remember the first two. For my challenge I did the washing twice and stacked and unstacked the dishwasher. For the washing I helped folding it and folded a different load. Then I put the the clothes away.

Sleeping in a box

When the 40 hour famine came around I slept in a box. At first I wasn't nervous but by the end of it I was tired and I never want to do it again.  The box was small and uncomfortable. At the start I was using a blanket as a pillow but it started to give me a headache so I found a pillow and used it. The second night was better than the first one and I actually got some sleep. It was the worst experience that I have ever had and I never want to do it again.

The death run!

On June the 25th Tauranga Intermediate did the cross country. The run is 3 km long! At first I was last then I started to pass people. I came 27th out of about 250 kids. I thought that I was going to come about 100th. At the start of the race I was getting nervous but by the end I was tired and hating the run even more. The starter was Mr Scholes. 

Parents nights of #3

On Sunday the 16th of June I made my mum and step-dad dinner. First I made the muffins so that they cooked then the potato bake and the schnitzel and last the prawn cocktail. I started the dinner at 4 pm and finished at 6 pm. Here is the link to the menu. Here is also a link to the pictures of the food.

My amazing artwork

For one of my homework challenges I made a piece of artwork out of recycled materials. The materials I used were wood, paper, 2 colours of spray paint and balsa wood triangles. This piece of artwork took me a couple of days and it was annoying glueing on the paper.

Walking with my dad.

A few weeks ago my dad and I did the walk again. This time we did it even shorter than the last two. When we were walking my dad and I walked past these people twice. Also my best friends mum ran  past us and stopped to chat. It was such a coincidence that we past her. On the way to the estuary  we stopped at jesters pie. My dad got a Spud Deluxe and I got a Billy T. My pie has cheese and mince and my dad had potato, Cheese and mince. Here are some photos of our route and other details.

About 1-2 months ago my dad and I walked the estuary again. This time we did the walk faster. I think that we took about 1 hour and 58 minutes. The walk felt shorter because we did the boring part first and the best bit last. Here is the route and other details.

Playing tag with a 9 month year old?

This is my design your own challenge  for school and community work. For this challenge I have feed my step niece help with bathing her and kept her entertained by playing tag with her. By playing tag I mean Anneliese is going to get you. Also I make sure she dosent eat anything she isn't supposed   to eat.  Playing tag is so much fun with her because she knows to run when you go near her and always make sure you are okay. Make sure she dosen't  fall over, help her walk, entertain her when her mum needs to eat dinner and play with her when she  just needs someone to play with.

Hard Tech

On Friday the 23rd of May I did hard tech. Hard tech is basically making things out of hard materials. We created a shield with a pattern or design on it. My shield has a PANDA!! on it. The design was supposed describe you or be something you like.First we had to make our bases, then we had to design the shape of our shield. Next we had to trace the shield onto a piece of wood. After that we had to cut them out using a jigsaw. I messed mine up so I had to start again. When we had finished that we then had to paint the base colour. Lastly we had to paint our design on.  We had done all of this during the week. I Love hard tech!

At the start  of Term 2 I started reading a book called Taken at dusk by C.C Hunter. The book is about a girl with supernatural powers. She is staying at a supernatural camp called Shadows Falls. Kylie the main character is trying to find out more out about her dad by contacting her grandparents, but they have their suspicions against the grandparents, because they think that they are impostors. The guy she likes is a werewolf, her roommates are a vampire and a witch. So far it has been a great book and can't wait to finish it and the series. I recommend to everyone who like something supernatural. Here is a picture of the cover -------->

Walking 9.18km

On mothers day I went for a walk down near chapel street. It took us 2 hours.
Here is some photos of the route and the other details. My Dad and I left at 10.00 and finished at 12.00.  When we were walking we saw this dog that when ever we caught up with the dog it would walk beside us. The dogs name was Barnaby. The best part for me was when we could see the car and knew that we weren't  far from finishing. My least favourite part was when we ran out of water and had to stop at the gas station to get a drink. When we were walking I kept getting stones in my shoes. It was so annoying

Parents night off #2

On mothers day  I made my Mum and her boyfriend  a formal three course meal.

Overall the meal took about 2 hours but tasted yummy!   Mum, Nathan and I all  enjoyed it.
After all that time it only took 30 minutes to eat it all!

Ratings and reviews.


Mum: The garlic bread was just a very nice beginning of the meal, it wasn't too garlicky and just right. The chicken nugget were nice, juicy and not over cooked. The salad was as good as restaurant salads or better because of the feta. The meringues however were flat and sticky but  delicious. Overall rating: 8.5/10

Nathan: The bread was mmmmmmm just perfect and I think that she should do it again. All of the dishes were good.

20 LED's chasing each other

After a long gruelling hour I have just completed my circuit board for my homework.  The circuit board I made had 10 resistors, 20 LED's, 10 capacitors, a switch and a battery snap clip with the battery. The way it works is that when you turn it on some LED's will flash on then off. It looks like they are chasing each other. Here is a before, during and after photos of the circuit board.

Parents night off #1

Last term I cooked a formal three course meal for my family for my homework. For the entree I made a chicken salad, for my main a hash brown quiche and for my dessert I made a chocolate brownie. Here are some photos of me cooking and the final result. Here is a menu as well. ------>  The menu

And here is some feedback from my Dad and step-mum .

Dad: I really enjoyed it and it was all the better because Anneliese really put some effort into it and I just wish that she would make more hash brown quiche. 

Sarah: It was well presented and very balanced. It was also very delicious , filling and it was very lovely to have diner cooked for me.

Going around the North Island.

To start it all off the first weekend my dad and I went to Cambridge for the day to strip a model  aeroplanes engine . That took us about 2-3 hours. The reason we stripped the engine was because my step-mums dad (the one who owns the model plane) is in Australia on a business trip so he couldn't do it so he asked my dad to. Since my dad was going he decided to take me along. Then we went to Hamilton for breakfast. We went to our favourite place which is Jesters. I got a Billy T pie then a kiwi classic party pie. My dad got a spinach and chicken pie.


My favourite part of my holidays would have to be when I went jet boating down the Kaituna river. The driver did 360 spins at nearly 80 km! It was so much fun. We dodged many objects that were in the way such as logs and river banks. The place is near Te Puke. It was a really fun experience.

The last weekend of the holidays my step brothers and I went with my step-dad in his truck dropping off and loading the truck. First we dropped off grade four metal at a concrete company. Then we loaded up with maize on the edge of Whakatane. Then we had to go to Wollton to drop it all of then weigh in and out. The next load we had was more maize in Matamata then back to Wollton. We got home at 7:30 pm. For tea we had meatballs. My step-dad works for J Swap. It was a very tiring  day and by the end of it all I was so glad to be home although it was a lot of fun.

The genesis of my blog

This is my first blog and I have no clue what to say. This year I am a year 7. One of my good friends is Jack! I enjoy my school a lot. Um I hope you like my blog and enjoy it. Please dont ask when I regularly blog so yeah. My favourite things to do in my spare time is watching minecraft videos on Youtube, making my parents laugh, using my laptop, laughing with friends and shoe shopping! DONT JUDGE ME!!!! Only kidding:). My class are a very funny class. ------>  BYE BYE BYE BYE!!!!!!!!
